Thompson Buckhead now welcoming guests in Atlanta

Reflection of the neighbourhood

The new Thompson Buckhead hotel, owned by Atlanta-based Regent Partners and The Loudermilk Companies, provides guests with an inviting space that celebrates culture and introduces them to carefully curated local experiences. Constructed by general contractor Brasfield and Gorrie, this Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio-designed building rises up ten storeys high, while Studio 11 Design was responsible for the interior design, fusing romanticism with mid-century minimalism and classic Southern charm.

Its enviable location in the heart of one of Atlanta’s most desirable neighbourhoods, Buckhead Village, is reflected through understated luxury, with cutting-edge architecture speaking to the city’s status as a hub for innovation.

The building’s contemporary exterior provides inspiration for the space inside, and greenery throughout provides a connection with the outdoors. Overall, the architectural and interior design strikes a delicate balance between modernity and the neighbourhood’s classic style.

Venues forging connections

The hotel is home to 201 guestrooms and suites featuring chevron-patterned wooden floors, marble mosaics, a colour scheme of natural hues complemented by jewel tones, and local art. This accommodation comes with floor-to-ceiling windows for sweeping city views, plus locally curated minibars.

Suites across Junior, King and Parlor categories range from 417 to 620 sq ft in size, and the signature Thompson Suite covers 1,048 sq ft with amenities such as a wet-bar, glass-enclosed dining room and spa-inspired wet room.

Guests staying in the suites and ninth-floor rooms will have access to the hotel’s private membership rooftop club, Tesserae, when it opens in early 2022. This members’ club is designed to connect thought-leaders and creators in indoor-outdoor space with exclusive amenities. Moreover, all guests have access to the hotel’s rooftop pool with private cabanas on the tenth floor.

Ground-floor signature restaurant Dirty Rascal – accommodating 140 customers – offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in a space inspired by the old-school Italian-American restaurants of New York or Las Vegas. Created by James Beard Foundation semi-finalist Todd Ginsberg and the Rye Restaurants team, this dining establishment comprises a large central bar, oversized round leather booths, intimate alcoves and a private dining area, with a kitchen led by Chef Joshua Hopkins.

Last but not least, events can be hosted in a range of pre-function areas, an executive boardroom and divisible meeting spaces, as well as a 4,187 sq ft ballroom with retractable glass wall opening up onto an outdoor terrace with fireplace.
