The transformed space increased daylight square footage by 536% and gross building area by 2K SF, with the exposed, existing concrete structure functioning as a cool design feature. Balfour Beatty leveraged eco-conscious construction practices to avoid the waste demolition can generate. Its workers replaced the original exterior skin with a synthetic wall system, which was prefabricated off-site and uses StoPanel technology. This solution, identified and evaluated during preconstruction, enhances the energy efficiency of the building while providing a faster and safer method of replacing the envelope on the busy street.
